St. Germain High School was established in January 1944. The school began in the former Clergy and Archbishop's House, which was also St Joseph's School earlier. The School was named after a much loved French Priest Rev Fr St Germain. He was a dedicated Sports teacher, and had a very great following of school boys in those days and he was a model to them when he was at St Joseph's. Fr St Germain passed away in 1939 and as a tribute to him, the new school was named after him.

The school is managed by the Archdiocesan Board Of Education, under the Chairmanship of the Archbishop of Bangalore. The school is recognized by the Indian School certificate Examination (ICSE) Delhi.
